Love and Light
My name is Meltem and I am a qualified Hatha Yoga and Yin Yoga Teacher.
Yoga has been a part of my life for over 15 years now and it has not only become a great passion of mine, but has also helped me through some of life’s challenges.
From starting out as a Yoga beginner all those years ago, I have experienced Yoga’s therapeutic benefits both in terms of physical and mental wellbeing. Yoga can help people to manage stress and anxiety, develop confidence, self love and care and can also support cognitive functioning such as focus and memory. Having experienced the benefits of Yoga myself, today I love sharing this knowledge with others through my Yoga teaching.
I believe everyone can do Yoga and I teach Yoga to all levels and abilities, providing a relaxed, welcoming environment in which everyone can learn, develop and practise at their own pace. I deliver a variety of Yoga sessions each with a different focus, from Yin Yoga to Hatha Yoga to help physical and mental wellbeing.
I also specialise in working with people with limited mobility, disabilities and varying communication needs. I have fourteen years’ experience of supporting people with hearing or visual impairments, Cerebral Palsy, wheelchair users, Down’s Syndrome, Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties. Utilising this experience I adapt my sessions, delivery style and class sizes to ensure accessibility.

Gosh, Meltem,what can I say? Words are woefully inadequate to describe the sheer genius of your teaching. I'm in recovery from a 10 hour surgery so I'm not fully able-bodied. Meltem's adaptations have meant that when I have been able to join, I have been able to join in and safely push myself. When I am not able to attend Meltem sends an encouraging message supporting me to look after my body. What is truly amazing is how much more conditioned my body is, despite my inability to attend and having to take part in adaptations when I do attend. Meltem gets right under and inside any weaknesses and gently supports a change. She enables the participants to positively rise to the challenge in an appropriate way for them.
The combination of her knowledge, experience and self-actualised personality produces this enviable genius. Thanks Meltem!
So glad I managed to take a class with Hatha Yoga Meltem this week. Helping highly stressed people day in and day out can take take its toll if you don’t practice self care. Adding Yoga to my self care routine is a game changer, especially if you spend your day sitting with clients and not getting much movement. I experienced mental, emotional and physical benefits.
Meltem’s class was welcoming, relaxing and fun. Unlike other classes which have increased my stress level, Mel explains really well and allows you to go at a pace that is right for you. I felt well supported and will most definitely make this class a part of my self care routine as often as possible.
A great class. Meltem has a lovely teaching style; encouraging and gentle, she guides you through the postures, helping you find what is right for you, which makes it suitable for all level yogis...even novices like myself! I have been doing online yoga sessions with Meltem for a few months now and over the summer, I attended some sessions in Warley woods and Lightwoods house, which were brilliant. It has really helped me, both physically and mentally. Meltem is extremely kind and attentive, the sessions are always fun and she is a brilliant teacher , I highly recommend giving it a go.

Online Yin Yoga Classes
Yin yoga sessions are designed to target on the tissues, such as the ligaments, joint capsules, cartilage, bones and fascia. This helps to improves joint mobility, flexibility and balances the internal organs.
Yin yoga also helps to calm and balances the body and mind, reduces stress and anxiety, improves energy flow and increases the flow of chi in the organs.
Yoga In Nature
Practicing yoga in outdoors connects us deeply with nature and energy of the universe.
This class will aim to relax and nourish your body and soul by breathing, moving and meditating.
Alignment & Flow
Chair yoga is an ideal for wheel chair users, people with less mobility, ,or with conditions, such as chronic pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, osteoporosis, and multiple sclerosis. It may also benefit people who want a break from office work.
